Match Report | Played on a smooth surface at Harper Adams this game allowed both teams to develop flowing moves going forward. Newport playing with plenty of endeavour had the greater amount of possession and opportunities to score. Stone were on the defensive for most of the first half until a miss communication in defence allowed them to intercept and score their first goal against the run of play. The second-half began with a reorganised mid-field, producing several attacks. One of these led to John Jones converting a pass from Owen Chaplin. Stone were lucky to score when a fortunate bounce took the ball in off a post. Their only other shot on goal was pushed around the post by Aaron Fielder's fine diving stop. Newport dominated the rest of the game with Mark Bates and Paul Dain turning defence into attack on several occasions. Owen came close to scoring with a couple of shots hitting the woodwork before one of several short corners, led to John's second score. Further opportunities were created but over anxious finishing and a fine performance by Stone's keeper kept the scores level.Played on a smooth surface at Harper Adams this game allowed both teams to develop flowing moves going forward.
