1st Team Vs Telford & Wrekin 4

An excellent all around team performance resulting in this welcome League win against strong opposition. Telford and Wrekin applied early pressure creating several opportunities from open play and corners. The rest of the first half continued with Newport on the back foot with some play going forward. Several shots were saved by their keeper and one glanced off a post.

Newport were able to take control of the midfield after the interval producing sustained pressure for the majority of the second half. Many attempts on their goal were thwarted by resolute defending until a deflected shot from Mike Fletcher produced a score. The opposition responded by using substitutes to freshen their attacking play creating several threats on goal but none of their shots found the target.
