NHC took a 13 strong squad for the second league game of the season to Stone resulting in a well contested flowing game Newport quickly settled into the gamel and were unfortunate to go behind after 20mins. A further goal was conceded, before a deserved reply from a short corner was converted by Tim. The flow of the play in the second half was disrupted by 2 lengthy stoppages, one for a warning regarding language on the field and the second when one umpire had to move his car !. Stone were lucky to score 3 more times whilst Newport's consistent pressure created several chances one of which ended with the ball in their net but the whistle had already blown .There were also several short corners which were stoutly defended by Stone. Another break away did result in a second goal by Tim with support from Owen and Tom. An all round improved performance from last week’s.
