A pleasnt way to end 2017 against some familar faces from the disbanded Barlaston club and played on a warm afternoon near the end of December!. The play was from end to end with the oppostion taking a 3 goal lead before Dani Dain opened the scoring for us before half-time. The distribution of warm drinks at the break had more of a benfiical effect on the Newport players especaillly the Rhubarb and Ginger liquer!!, The introduction of new players meant two full sized teams completed the second half with Newport proving to have the stamina to finish strongly running out 6-5 winners. Adam Smith kept the goals against column in single figures with another oustanding performance in goal.
